Getting from Budapest to Vienna and Passau by train
There are several trains leaving Budapest towards Vienna. The Railjet (RJ) trains take bicycles, leaving from Budapest-Keleti station every two hours. You get the tickets and timetable information online here: www.oebb.at/en/
If you intend to cycle all the way from Passau to Budapest, look for trains from 'Budapest' to 'Passau Hbf.'. The journey is a bit over 5.5 hrs one-way.
Keep in mind that train tickets become available 92 days prior to departure - if booking online. You will also need a ticket for your bicycle (German: 'Fahrradkarte') as well as a reservation for it to go on the train.
